Highway Solar - Creating Energy at the Source

Solway’s most unique project is building solar canopies on the medians of highways. In Massachusetts alone, there are over 3,336 miles of state-owned highway. Solway has identified 400 miles of medians on state highways wide enough to support solar canopies. Solway estimates that almost 1,700 MW of power would be generated annually, which would service over 1,100,000 homes in the Commonwealth.

Solway has recently been designated by MassDOT for a unique Pilot Program to place solar parking lot canopies on the median in a specific location. Stay tuned for more exciting news in the near future.
